Lesson 2:  Integrating Apps into Existing Lesson Plans
Create Your Own Lesson Plan

1.  See if you can find an app that would improve the thinkig level of the lessons, below.
2.  Modify one of your own lessons to incorporate an app and help create a lesson with a higher level of thinking.
3.  Review or teach your lesson with a group of educators, then have them provide feedback to you using the form available at the link, below.

Example Lesson A:  Mathematics

Objective:  Find the solution to systems of  equations by graphing.
Level of Thinking:   Understanding
Lesson:   Teach students how to graph two or more lines on a coordinate plane and to find the intersection point on the graph.  Have students practice with a worksheet.

Example Lesson B:  Government

Objective:  Describe and define "due process."
Level of thinking:  Understanding
Lesson:  Students are  lectured on the purpose of due process, and are given examples of when due  process is important.  Students must then write and essay outlining the importance of due process, supporting arguments with examples given in  class.

Example Lesson C:  Spanish

Objective:  Use vocabulary to write a newspaper article about your home town.
Level of thinking:  Applying
Lesson:  Present vocabulary to students.  Have each student write a newspaper article about their home town that must include all of the vocabulary words.

Hint:  Look at  Cartoon Maker.

Objective:  Create a haiku.
Level of thinking:   Applying
Lesson:  Present the history and structure of haikus to the class.  Have students create their own
haiku.
