Student 2
Student 2 teaches Government and Debate at a 9th – 12th grade all-boy high school in Houston. This is his 15th year teaching. 1. What is the estimated time to complete each lesson?
I would take about 1 – 2 hours for the whole site.
2. Is the purpose of each page clear? Why or why not?
Yes. I like the apps on the Research and Information fluency pages. I definitely will be looking at those apps for my classes.
3. Do all of the links work? Please specify which do not.
I used the menus from the top and had no problems.
4. Do the graphics add to or detract from the purpose of the pages? Please explain.
I like the graphics and the videos, but would probably not go through all of them if I were doing this on my own.
5. Does the text add to or detract from the purpose of each page? Please explain.
The text is fine. It is easy to read. All of the information on the pages made sense and was helpful.
6. What do you like best about this website?
I liked the Research and Information fluency apps. I also liked knowing that there are other resources and ways to use apps in the classroom. I have an iPad, but have not really used it in the class for more than recording Debate rounds, and letting students use it for research. It was also good to learn about Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy and ISTE NETS. I will be using some of the resources from the lesson planning page as research for new apps for my students.
7. What would you like to see changed in this website?
I wouldn’t change much, except to maybe add more lesson plan ideas.
8. Do you feel the three objectives presented in this website were met?
Yes.
